Active Adventures in Sri Lanka

Hikes, climbs, surf and cycling among ruins.

Create My Journey

For those who like to earn their views, Sri Lanka is a playground. Hike through tea estates, climb sacred peaks before dawn, cycle among ancient ruins and surf on the south and east coasts.

We balance active days with rest, pairing a dawn climb with an afternoon by the pool or a long walk with a relaxed evening at a boutique hotel. We always talk through what each activity involves so you can choose what suits you.

Where adventure shine

Sri Lanka

Hill country hiking

Ella is a superb base for walks to Little Adam’s Peak and the Nine Arches Bridge, while Adam’s Peak itself is a challenging overnight climb to watch sunrise from the summit, traditionally during the pilgrimage season. Expect many steps and cool temperatures at the top.

Snorkelling the east coast

From around April or May to September, the waters off Trincomalee and Pasikuda are often calm and clear, ideal for snorkelling and boat trips. We suggest operators with good safety practices.
